Have you ever wanted to witness the thrill of the open outcry pits on the floor of the CBOT?  Now is your chance, before trading becomes electronic and the pits are a thing of the past...

Thursday, March 18th, 2010  

Here is the plan:

We will be departing Cedar Rapids at 6:30 am from the Collins Road Hy-Vee.  We will provide breakfast on the bus on our way to the CBOT.  

After arriving in Chicago, we will go to the visitors gallery and have an opportunity to hear from a floor trader. Chris Sheppard has had over 20 years of floor trading experience and will give us some insight as to what acutally goes on in the pits.  He will also explain the hand signals and answer any questions you may have.

Following the meeting we will watch a short video provided by the CBOT and will be there to watch the excitement as the markets close at 1:15.  

After the close, we have sandwiches provided by Zio Johno's and be back on our way to Iowa by 2:15!
